Third-Party Licenses

SolverCloud sandboxes are built on open-source software written by other people. This page credits every project and links to its licence and source.

These projects are not ours, and they are not SolverCloud's to license

Each package below is developed and licensed by its own authors. We install it, keep it running and give you a machine to use it on — but your use of the software itself is governed by that project's licence, not by our terms. Where a licence requires attribution, this page is it.

Obtaining source code

Some of the software on a sandbox is covered by copyleft licences — the GNU GPL and related licences — which give you the right to receive the corresponding source code for the binaries you were provided.

The upstream projects publish their complete source at the repositories linked above, and every Ubuntu package can be fetched with apt-get source <package> from the sandbox itself. Each installed package also records its own licence on the VM under /usr/share/doc/<package>/copyright.

If you would prefer to receive the corresponding source for any copyleft component directly from us rather than from upstream, contact us through the form on the Settings page and we will provide it.

Your own work is yours

Nothing on this page affects the case files, meshes or results you create on a sandbox. Using GPL-licensed software to produce output does not place your output under the GPL. What these licences govern is the software itself — copying it, modifying it, and redistributing it.

Something missing or wrong?

We install more software than the headline packages listed here — an Ubuntu image contains thousands of them. If a component you rely on is missing from this page, or an attribution is incorrect, tell us through the contact form on the Settings page and we will correct it.
